and Their Collaborative New Single
Twin sisters, Kaydine and Kerrine Francis, K Queens, have sung in close harmony from a young age. Sharing the stage for over a decade, K Queens have earned dancehall’s highest ratings. Their latest single “Jamdown Ranking” produced by Sugar Bear, on Rayvon’s GTC (Get That Cheddar Entertainment) Label; distributed by Tuff Gong International, is a remake of Althea and Donna (Althea Forrest and Donna Max de Reid)’s “Uptown Ranking.” The song’s “I’m Still in Love” riddim, was originally produced by Joe Gibbs in 1977. Alton Ellis hit song “I’m Still In Love” on this riddim, was later covered by Marcia Aitkens in 1987. In 2002, Sean Paul and Sasha revitalized the song, “I’m Still in Love” on the album, “Dutty Rock.” In the summer of 2018, Jay-Z and Beyonce used Aitken’s version of “I’m Still in Love” in the promotional ad for their second tour. In November 2018, K Queens laid down Up-to-Date lyrics over the Sugar Bear remodeled beat, for the modern, “Jamdown Ranking.” We caught up with the Duo, K Queens to discuss their music over time and their latest musical projects. K Queens take on Jamaican classic
The K Queens twins, Kaydine and Kerrine Francis have put their touch to a Jamaican classic.
Helmed by NY-based producer Sugar Bear, the single Jamdown Top Ranking modernizes Althea and Donna's signature song, Uptown Top Ranking.
The 1977 original, produced by legendary tunesmith Joe Gibbs, spent 11 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and peaked at the No.1 position in 1978.
Listeners will instantly recognize the familiar I'm Still In Love With You rhythm, which was most recently-repopularised by Sean Paul and Sasha.
Of the brand-new release, K Queens stated, "it was inspiring doing this song because we can recall family members expressing their love for it and how much they enjoyed it back in the day till now."

WRECKIT BIOGRAPHY
Breakthrough genres, playfully turning lyrical expectations upon themselves—WreckIt Ralf is a seasoned artist ready to explode on the music scene; he is nitroglycerin set to collapse the walls limiting our collective consciousness. His music makes us want to jump up and dance, stop and think, and then raise our fists to the sky. Hard to say when the music began as a kid in the 80s, exploring his music producer dad’s library of music and tour memorabilia: such as the Wu-Tang Clan. From here, he would develop his taste for music: artists like Nas, Canibus, Biggie, Tupac, and Eminem. Moving to 2002; is when the music began. Studying at FIT, Ralf switched from design to the sole pursuit of lyrics when discovered by Truth Ent. Set for a collaboration with a rising star DJ Whoo Kid had just signed with Dre and Shady, except the label fell apart. Years later, through the steady encouragement of his friends and family, Ralf returned to music, and that same year debuted in a DVD under French Montana’s Cocaine City label (now partnered with Bad Boy Records). WreckIt Ralf’s music begins as an ever-developing form that will not only subvert today’s trends but ultimately subvert itself. The video for Affair will be out later this year, The music is smart, brutal, confident, sexy, and, as he says, “something the ladies would appreciate.” Who knows what will come out of all this? You must tear everything down in order to powerfully create, even yourself, and that’s what Ralf does best.
